A Classic Fried Catfish Recipe

Fried catfish is a classic dish that has become the favorite of many. Its simple and it tastes ohhh so good. So here we go, lets take a look at a classic fried classic recipe that is sure to make your mouth water!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon
  • garlic powder
  • fillets from 2 freshly caught catfish
  • Vegetable oil

The Run Down

Mix your cornmeal, salt, flour, cayenne pepper and garlic powder, with this mix coat your catfish, making sure you shake off any excess mix.

Using vegetable oil fill a large deep skillet about half full and heat to about 350 degrees. Place your catfish in the heated oil and let fry until they turn a beautiful gold color. Remove them at this point and place on paper towels to get rid of any access oil and wallla! You’ve got a classic, easy, great tasting meal!
