Parasite Found In Fish Linked To Rare Type Of Liver Cancer!

A parasite found in freshwater fish across Asia has been found to cause a rare form of liver cancer. The parasite effects those that eat raw fish, or semi-raw fish, a practice which is widespread in Asia.

Thailand only has a documented 6 million people whom have been effected by the parasite. Extremely high rates of people effected have also been found in Laos.

Once the parasite / worm enters the body it attaches itself to the liver after a few years the worm can create ulcers and liver infection, which ultimately lead to tumors and liver cancer. The process may take many years, but once cancer has set in it becomes a very rapid decline usually taking no more than 6 months to kill.

The parasite if found can be treated with drugs that eliminate it from ones body, though in many cases the victim has no idea he or she has been infected until its to late.
