Relaxed Trout Limits Along The Cumberland
Officials are worried about portions of the Cumberland River. They fear that warming waters are going to cause a fish kill among the prized trout that swim the river.
To prevent a mass fish kill wildlife officials loosened up trout limits along a 40 mile stretch of the Cumberland river. As of June 17th, trout anglers will be allowed to keep up to 10 trout of any size.
The stretch of the Cumberland river that will be effected by the relaxed trout limits runs from the Tennessee state line up to the public boat launch, located in Burkesville.
The cause of the concern stems from unusually hot and dry conditions, which is effecting water levels in both the Cumberland River and Lake Cumberland.
